Champagne Charlie in Paris: an extract from the past
It was a last minute decision to travel to France via Paris to the champagne capital of the world – the festive Reims. Due to the unfortunate mishap of my friends sister breaking up with her boyfriend, there belied an opportunity to sample and appreciate the many types of champagne and visit a vineyard to see if the process could be translated to my garage at home. Thankfully the accommodation had already been booked via TravelBird hotel comparison site – a good deal I hear, but hey ho, it was a free trip for moi!
The wrath of the grape: it only took a few hours to reach a bubbly haze and reach the heights of felicity after only three glasses of champagne. (large glasses). The word heathen comes to mind but for those appreciating the finer wines and champagnes, I promise it did touch the sides on entry. read more >>
Perhaps a n English Vine Tour may be a perfect honeymoon – Pondering Marquee Hire for Your Wedding?
Wedding Marquee Hire FAQs
Weddings are beautiful events that require beautiful settings. Mother Nature has provided the most beautiful of settings, and many brides find that outdoor weddings and receptions are far more beautiful and memorable than weddings and receptions confined to a building.
Wedding marquee hires are becoming increasingly popular, especially among spring and summer brides, but brides and mothers often ask the same questions of the marquee hire companies. Here are a list of the most commonly asked questions and their answers.
How safe are marquees?
Marquees are perfectly safe when they are constructed with metal frames, draped in fire resistant fabric, and thoroughly inspected before every event. Each marquee meets BSI safety standards. Weddings are especially trying on marquees because of the number of people, the common use of candles, and the excitement that comes with dancing all night long.
Are they weather-proof?
If you pick the right wedding marquee hire company you’ll find that they can offer marquees that are designed with withstand winds in force of 60mph, have waterproof fabric, and offer elevated hard floors to keep water seepage from ruining your good time. Some wedding marquees come equipped with heaters so that you can even hold your wedding outdoors in the winter.
Will they damage the lawns?
Grass is a very tough plant. Once the marquee is removed, the grass will be flattened and a little discoloured but it will bounce back in a matter of days.
Can they be attached to the church?
Wedding marquees are built using a sturdy frame which can be attached to buildings as a form of extension. This is especially useful for overflow seating during the wedding ceremony.
Your wedding is your girlhood dream come to life, and your marquee hire provider can help you have the dreamiest wedding ever. If you have any unanswered questions, be sure to ask your wedding marquee supplier before hire.
